Hands down, ginger is one of my favorite, favorite spices to use for anything and everything. I put it in soups, on meat, fish, vegetables...and, of course, tea!! Not only is it delicious, but it's also incredibly versatile.

Ginger has been used for a long time, not only as a flavoring, but also as a source of alternative medicine. At Rising Dawn, we use it as both in many of our teas. (As always, please consult with a health professional before consuming any herbs you may be unfamiliar with.)

So, what makes ginger so incredible? Well, besides it's fantastic flavor (I honestly feel sorry non-ginger fans) it's great for digestion, nausea, lowers blood sugar, and helps protect the heart, In fact, ginger has been in use for over 2000 years!!

Personally, I use it to help with sinus and congestion issues as well. One of my favorite drinks is fresh ginger root, fresh lemon juice, honey, and a dash of cayenne pepper mixed with hot water.
